American Humane Mobile Rescue Vehicle on Display at San Diego Veterinary Conference

WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, December 13, 2018 — American Humane’s West Coast 50-foot mobile rescue truck, which was last used to assist animals from the deadly Camp Fire in California, will be onsite this weekend in San Diego at the Vet & Pet West Wag Conference. This Los Angeles-based vehicle—one of five stationed in various cities across the country–allows American Humane to bolster its response to disasters and animal crises by having lifesaving equipment and supplies at the ready. Registered conference participants are welcome to take a tour. It was also deployed to Washington state in September for a puppy mill case involving 255 dogs.

Support for this vehicle comes from philanthropist Lois Pope and the Lois Pope LIFE Foundation, Banfield Foundation, and Zoetis Petcare, which generously donates critical medicines and veterinary supplies.

American Humane staff, including its chief veterinarian officer, will attend the conference. Visit the American Humane booth to hear more about the organization’s rescue and other programs.
