American Humane Welcomes Judy Palermo, APR as Chief Communications Officer

American Humane is excited to welcome Judy Palermo, APR as the organization’s new Chief Communications Officer. With decades of experience in media and public relations, Judy will spearhead American Humane’s communications strategy and support efforts to promote the safety, welfare, and well-being of animals.

Not only is Judy an award-winning journalist, having received eleven Emmy awards and multiple Associated Press awards, but she previously managed all aspects of public relations for the Indianapolis Zoological Society and the Global Center for Species Survival.

“American Humane is thrilled to add industry veteran Judy Palermo to our team as Chief Communications Officer,” said Dr. Robin Ganzert, President and CEO of American Humane. “Judy’s unique background of publicizing the valuable conservation and awareness work done by modern zoos will make her a valuable asset to American Humane and our mission of making the world a kinder place for animals.”
