American Humane Appoints Cheryl Lesko to Senior Vice President & Chief Growth Officer

WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, July 21, 2023 — Today, American Humane announced that Cheryl Lesko is being appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Growth Officer. Previously, Lesko served as the organization’s Chief Development Officer.

Prior to American Humane, Lesko developed the national strategy for the National 4-H Council’s agriculture platform and forged corporate partnerships with Fortune 500 companies, before leading the organization’s Individual Giving program, to support youth across the country. In other past positions at Canine Companions for Independence and The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Lesko directed and advanced major philanthropic activities across capital projects, board campaigns, planned, corporate, individual and foundation giving. She drove all fundraising communications and community relations, cultivating relationships with staff, board members and high-profile donors.
