Cassandra Tucker is a Professor of Animal Science and Director of the Center for Animal Welfare at UC Davis. She teaches courses about domestic animal behavior and animal welfare. Her research aims to understand how cattle respond to housing and management decisions. She is committed to contributing to meaningful animal care standards as well as animal welfare auditor training. She is currently the chairperson for the Professional Animal Auditor Certification Organization (PAACO) Board of Directors. Dr. Tucker earned her BSc from UC Davis and her PhD from the University of British Columbia. In addition to her time in Canada, she has lived and worked in New Zealand and Denmark. Outside of work, Cassandra enjoys time with friends and family, yoga, and, cooking and eating tasty meals.
