Spring & Summer 2026 Farm Newsletter

A Message from Dr. Robin Ganzert, President and CEO, American Humane Society

Dear Friends,

As we move into a new time of year, it’s an inspiring time to reflect on the progress we’re making together to advance humane care for farm animals.

At American Humane Society, our work is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: that every animal deserves to be treated with compassion, dignity and respect. Thanks to your continued support and partnership, that belief is becoming a reality for more than one billion farm animals each year through the American Humane Certified™ program.

This newsletter reflects the momentum we are building across every part of our work. From welcoming new leadership like Ryan Bennett, whose expertise will help expand our reach and impact, to the addition of distinguished scientists like Dr. Dana Campbell to our Scientific Advisory Committee, we are strengthening the foundation of science, collaboration and innovation that drives our mission forward.

We are also proud to see animal welfare taking center stage across the industry, as highlighted at the recent PEAK Conference, where meaningful conversations are turning data into action and raising standards across the globe. At the same time, our certified producers like Springer Mountain Farms, continue to demonstrate that humane practices and high-quality food production go hand in hand.

Transparency and continuous improvement remain at the heart of everything we do. With new tools, updated standards and expanded resources now available, we are empowering producers and partners with the knowledge and support they need to succeed while upholding exceptional standards of animal care.

As you read through this issue, I hope you feel the same sense of pride and purpose that inspires our work every day. Together, we are not only improving the lives of animals, we are helping build a more humane, responsible and trustworthy food system for generations to come.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us.

With gratitude,

Robin R. Ganzert, Ph.D.
President and CEO
