As I reflect on 2025, I am filled with deep gratitude for the generosity, compassion and shared commitment of our friends and partners. Because of you, our donors, supporters, certified entities and volunteers, American Humane Society has transformed care into action and hope into measurable impact. Together, we have safeguarded the welfare of more than 1.7 billion animals worldwide, helping to ensure they are rescued, cared for and protected.
American Humane Society remains a trusted force for healing, resilience and second chances. At our newly opened Sanctuary in Florida, donor support provides a safe haven for animals in need while fueling life-changing programs such as Pups4Patriots™, which pairs highly-trained service dogs with veterans and retired first responders. Your investment has strengthened our disaster response efforts, enabling our Rescue Team to deploy quickly to wildfires in Los Angeles, saving displaced pets and supporting families during their most vulnerable moments. Every wellness clinic, service dog trained and animal rescued is a direct reflection of your compassion in action.
On an international scale, philanthropic leadership has enabled Global Humane Society to expand its reach to 95 countries and territories, advancing a vision where animals, wildlife and ecosystems can flourish together. This year marked a significant milestone with the opening of our first office in the European Union. This new hub strengthens collaboration with governments, NGOs and industry leaders, extending our science-based standards and humane practices across continents. In Africa, the Global Humane Conservation Fund of Africa opened the Brad and Alice Andrews Preserve to reconnect fragmented habitats and foster biodiversity. These investments also continue to protect endangered species, restore habitats and deliver emergency veterinary care to animals harmed by poaching or human-wildlife conflict.
2025 was one of the most exceptional years in our nearly 150-year history, one that honored our legacy while boldly advancing the future of animal welfare. As we expand our impact, strengthen our voice and deepen our commitment to the lives we serve, we are guided by a renewed sense of purpose. None of this impact would be possible without you. Your philanthropic support is the driving force behind every rescue, every certification and every life saved.
