The Purge: Anarchy
A young couple struggles to survive on the streets after their car breaks down and the annual purge commences.
Detailed Animal Action Report
In the scene where a dog on a leash walks with a group of armed actors at night, trainers and the AHA made sure that there was no gunfire or flames on set while the dog was working. Trainers were off camera, making sure the dogs were okay.
In the scene where the rat runs up a woman’s leg, startling her, and she kicks it away, the trainers carried the rat from their van to the the set in a transport cage. They had previously rehearsed with the actress and the rat so they just needed to pattern the action again a couple of times. For the shot, the trainer placed the rat about two feet from actress’s foot, then shook a rattle behind the rat to keep her moving up the leg. The rat rested in her box between takes.
