The Nice Guys

Detailed Animal Action Report

In the scene where the boy walks in the house, stares at the boy at the end of the hallway and a car crashes outside, the car crash was filmed separately and placed on a green screen. The dog was never near a car crash. The trainer brought the dog to the set, the boy and the dog were acclimated to each other before filming, after getting the shot (with the green screen in the background), trainers gave the dog treats.

In the scene where the bad guy feeds the fish in his aquarium, between takes the trainer removed the excess food in the tank, and made sure the water was clean. In that same scene where the man grabs the fish in the tank and throws it at the other actor, the fish was fake. Production provided us with the documentation of the fake fish.

In the scene where the actress leads a horse by a rope and the horse has a horn on his head like a unicorn, the trainer showed the actress how to lead the horse. The horn was placed on the horse in post production with CGI.

The bee crawling on the bar was also created by CGI.
