In the scene where the girl runs through the snow with a wolf following her, the scene was filmed on stage. The dog was well socialized and friendly to people, he was experienced with A to Bs and has been prepped and worked on this stage several times. Prior to filming the scene, one trainer held the dog behind the camera. On action, he let the dog go and follow the girl. The actress and the dog were acquainted prior to shooting.
In the scene where the girl plays tag in the field and the wolf watches her, prior to shooting the trainer placed the dog on his mark.
