The Mule
Detailed Animal Action Report
In the scene where the dog sticks his head oud of the police cruiser and barks, two trainers were on set. The road was closed to the public.
The trainer introduced the dog to the actor before filming so they could get acquainted. When the dog jumps out of the car and the actor pets him, the trainer worked with the dog beside the vehicle cueing him to bark with hand signals. One of the dog’s trainers got in the backseat of the vehicle and ducked down, while the other trainer stayed in bushes until cued. On action, the trainer released the dog who ran to the actor, who was holding a treat for the dog. Once they got the shot, they placed the dog in a van and provided him food and water.
