Detailed Animal Action Report

In the scene where the actor walks to his cabin, picks up his dog on the porch and brings him inside the house, placing him on the couch with the implication that the dog is sick, prior to shooting, the trainer brought the dog to the set and placed him on the dog bed. On action, the actor waited a beat before carrying the dog across the frame. Once off-camera, the actor sat on the couch with the dog on his lap. On cut, the trainer walked dog to the ‘outside’ door to reset.

In the scene where the actor brings dog into vet’s office, holding him, passing other dogs in cages, prior to shooting the scene, the trainers brought dogs to set on leash and placed them in kennels, which were cleaned before shooting. On action, the actor walked down the hall carrying dog while the multiple dogs in kennels barked at him in the background.

In the scene where everyone reunites in a parking lot and we see a woman holding a dog in the background, the background actor who held the dog owns dogs and was used to holding one in her arms. On action, the actor stood on her mark and held the dog. The loud sounds of sirens was added in post-production.
