The Iron Claw (2024)
The true story of the inseparable Von Erich brothers, who made history in the intensely competitive world of professional wrestling in the early 1980s. Detailed Animal Action Report
In the scene where the actor knocks on the apartment door and the actress opens the door welcoming her husband with dogs standing behind her, prior to filming, the handlers re-introduced the dogs to the actors who would be in the scene with them. The handlers also introduced the dogs to the child actors who would also be in the scene and went over proper handling techniques with the kids. Both dogs used were kid-friendly. The trainers approved the use of the food that was fed to the dogs in one of the set-ups. The dogs were fed the food a limited number of times. The action was filmed in an enclosed space so the dogs were safely contained. Only essential crew members were present while the dog was on set.
In the scene where the actor sits in the backyard as his kids play with the family dog, on action the dogs’ owners threw treats into the frame. The dogs ate the treats while their owners cued them to stay on their marks.
