The First Omen (2024)
When a young American woman is sent to Rome to begin a life of service to the church, she encounters a darkness that causes her to question her own faith and uncovers a terrifying conspiracy that hopes to bring about the birth of evil incarnate.
Animal actors in this production were monitored through American Humane Society’s No Animals Were Harmed™ program.
The First Omen
Detailed Animal Action Report
In the scene where the actress lies on the table while a spider crawls across her naked belly, prior to shooting the animal handlers conducted a rehearsal with the actress to make sure she could handle the spider. Using gentle blows with straws, the animal handlers directed the spider. The rehearsal lasted about 10 minutes, after which the animal handler gently returned the spider to its container. On action, they placed the same spider on her belly, which crawled on her stomach.
Due to late notification and scheduling conflicts, American Humane did not monitor some of the spider and sheep action.
