The Devil Wears Prada 2

Certified Animal Action Overview

No Animals Were Harmed™ ensured that every moment with animals in this film was handled with patience, planning and care. For the family dog’s scene, trainers gently guided the action behind the scenes. They positioned the dog off-camera, releasing him at just the right moment and allowing him to naturally walk alongside the actor before being calmly collected outside. In the upstairs apartment scene, the dog was comfortably placed beside the actress and quietly cued from off-camera, creating a relaxed, natural presence without any stress or force. Throughout production, the focus remained on keeping animals at ease while capturing authentic, everyday behavior that feels genuine on screen.

Detailed Animal Action Report

In the scene where the actors are in their house, the husband calls the dog and they walk out of the house to take him on a walk, prior to shooting the scene, the trainer brought the dog to the kitchen, off-camera. She then brought the dog to the foyer, ready to release him. On action, the actors walk into the kitchen, where their dialogue continues. When the actor playing the husband started walking out of the kitchen, the handler released the dog. The dog walked alongside the actor as they walked towards the front door. As they walked outside, another trainer collected the dog.

In the scene where the actress walks upstairs to an opulent flat and sees actress sitting down on a couch with her dog, prior to shooting, the trainer brought the dog to the set from the holding area. Then the trainer placed the dog next to the actress on the couch. On action, the other actress walked up the stairs, and the actors exchanged dialogue as the trainer stood off-camera, cuing the dog to sit still.

Due scheduling issues, American Humane Society did not monitor some of the dog action.
