The Conjuring 2
Detailed Animal Action Report
Throughout the film, the main characters have a pet dog, seen performing such mild action as sitting/standing/lying, being held or petted, and walking/running on or off leash. For all of these scenes, trainers used hand signals and verbal commands to cue the mild action, which the trained dog was accustomed to performing. The barking/growling was also a trained behavior.
In the scene where the little boy opens the front door and the dog runs out, a trainer waited outside the door and called to the dog on action. The dog ran outside and the trainer held him until they called cut.
In the scene where the dog stares outside, the dog was cued by the trainer in the backyard to kneel and look straight ahead.
