Detailed Animal Action Report

In the scene where we see a dog sitting at a man’s feet on the train, the scene was filmed on a moving train. The trainer carried the dog from the holding area to the set and placed the dog with the actor. The actor looped the leash around the armrest of the chair and held the dog on his lap. They filmed the scene quickly. The dog was provided food and water between takes.

In the scene where we see soldiers drive into an Afghan village and we see a donkey and goats in the background, prior to shooting the scene the donkey was groomed and tacked with a saddle pad and standard pack saddle. Two light-weight baskets with fake wheat were placed on the pack saddle. The animal wrangler walked the donkey to the set with a halter and lead rope. Another animal wrangler walked the goats to set with a rope lead around the neck. These four goats were placed in a pen on set with wooden fencing. They were provided with water, grain, and hay. All animals were very well-acclimated to being on set prior to filming.

In the scene where the woman carries the dog out of the train, the set was at a train station. The trainer carried the dog from the holding area to the set. He gave the dog to the actress. On action the woman holding the dog followed the stretcher. The dog was well acquainted with the actress and appeared comfortable with her and the surrounding action.
