Suburban Commando
Shep Ramsey, an alien “Rambo” type warrior, is trying to protect the universe from the evil General Suitor, who is attempting to rule it. Shep is forced to land on earth in order to make repairs after a fierce battle with General Suitor. He then finds an ad for a room for rent and meets Charlie, a whimpy, brow-beaten architect, and his family. He moves into their spare room and by so doing, Charlie is now included in eluding General Suitor and trying to save the earth.
Detailed Animal Action Report
Several fake animals are used in this picture. When Shep tries to assist a little girl by getting her cat out of a tree, Shep pulls down the tree branch to retrieve the cat, discovers that this is not the little girl’s cat, and lets go of the branch, causing the cat to fly through the air. This was done in cuts. You see the real cat sitting in the tree being supported underneath (out of camera view). Then you see the fake cat flying through the air. In another scene you see a woman holding two poodles during a bank robbery where everyone in the bank has been frozen with an alien instrument. These animals were also fake. In a scene where Shep finds a muzzled dog sitting in a truck, it appears that he is sitting in a closed truck in the hot sun. In reality the dog was just placed into position in the truck by the trainer and instructed to bark. He was never in danger of being overheated.
