Regretting You
Certified Animal Action Overview
No Animals Were Harmed™ monitored all the animal action in this film to ensure every moment on screen was safe, comfortable and filled with genuine charm. Before cameras rolled, professional trainers carefully prepared each scene, from gently guiding cows to a safe distance from the crew to making sure a lazy dog felt right at home on his porch bed. The goats were handled with patience and kindness, happily munching on carrots. Throughout filming, trainers remained close by, offering cues, comfort and plenty of treats once the director called “cut.” Thanks to these thoughtful efforts, every animal’s experience was calm, caring and playful.
Detailed Animal Action Report
In the scene where the two actors carry a sign past a field of cows, prior to filming trainers drove a feed cart past the cattle to keep them at a safe distance from the fence line and the crew. Once the cattle were at their marks, they began filming the scene.
In the scene when the two actors enter the house and pass an older man sitting on his porch with a dog, prior to filming the trainer walked the dog to the set and placed him on the dog bed beside the actor sitting in his chair. Just before action, the trainer placed the dog in stay and stepped out of frame. On action, the two actors walked onto the porch passing the actor and the dog on the bed. The dog remained on the dog bed for the duration of the scene. On cut, the trainer gave the dog a treat.
In the scene where two actors feed carrots to a goat in the front yard, prior to filming trainers walked the goat to set. The trainer led the goat to two cast members who were standing on their marks. Both actors held carrots, as the trainers stood right out of frame. On action, the actors fed the goat carrots while talking. The goat ate the carrots without any hesitation.
We also see actors playing with three goats in another scene. Prior to filming this scenes, trainers placed goats in an enclosed paddock. On action, one records the actress feeding goats with his cell phone. The goats displayed natural behavior for the entirety of the scene.
