Detailed Animal Action Report
In the scene when the veterinarian hands the dog to another actor in waiting room, the trainer brought the dog to the set. Between takes the dog remained in the SUV with the air conditioning on. Prior to filming the scene, the trainer handed the dog to the actors. The actors were prepped on how to hold the dog prior to shooting the scene.
In the scene when the actors walk on the beach, and the dog runs ahead of them, prior to filming the scene the trainer instructed the young actors how to direct the dog. On action, the trainer cued the dog to run.
In the scenes where the actors sit on the front porch and see a couple raccoons rummaging through the garbage, the wranglers transported both raccoons from their cases to the trash area. They placed food in the garbage heap to attract the animals. The trainers stood off-camera to cue the raccoons to sift through the garbage.
