One Battle After Another

Certified Animal Action Overview

No Animals Were Harmed™ was proud to oversee all animal action in this film, helping to ensure every creature on set was treated with care, respect and compassion. In a heartwarming scene where a young girl plays with her dog, the pup joyfully ran to her, guided gently by his trusted trainer. At a border detainment center, a skilled wrangler rode his own well-trained horse along a simple path. And in a quiet desert moment, goats and chickens added natural background texture, calmly placed by trainers who made sure the animals were comfortable. Every scene was carefully planned so the animals could do what came naturally, all under the watchful eye of American Humane Society.

Detailed Animal Action Report

In the scene where the actor sits in his living room, looks outside and sees his daughter playing with her dog, the trainer brought the dog to the set. Prior to shooting the scene the trainer held a dog off-camera. On action, he let the dog go who immediately ran to the actress. The actress and the dog were acquainted with each other prior to the scene.

In the scene at the detainment center near the border, where we see a quick shot of an agent on horseback, prior to shooting the scene the wrangler brought the horse to set. The wrangler himself was riding his horse. On action, the wrangler rode the horse from A to B alongside the fence.

In the scene where the actor drives to a mission in the desert, gets out of an SUV and enters, and we see two goats and some chickens in the field in the background, prior to shooting the trainer walked the two goats to set on a lead and tethered them to a stake in the ground. Another trainer brought three chickens to set in their carriers and placed them on their marks in the exterior corridor of the building. On action, the animals behaved naturally as the actors performed in the foreground.
