Detailed Animal Action Report
In the scene where we see an alligator walking down an empty street at night, prior to filming the animal coordinator placed the alligator on its mark. The camera was located on a steady cam approximately thirty feet down the street, from the corner where the alligator travelled up the street, eventually stopping approximately 10 feet from the alligator. The wranglers were close to the alligator at all times, just off-camera. After filming the scene, the wranglers placed the alligator in a air-conditioned truck where he was taken back to his sanctuary.
In the scene where a kid picks up a lizard, prior to shooting the wrangler took the lizard out of its terrarium and placed it on its mark near the two young actors. On action, the young actor opened his hand revealing the lizard. On take one the young man handed lizard to his friend. The actors were shows how to handle the lizard prior to filming.
In the scene where we see the alligator in the corner of the classroom, wranglers brought alligator to the set. They filmed the alligator in the classroom. He was never near any of the actors.
In the scene where we see a mule in the school hallway and the actor approaches him and pets him, wranglers walked the mule from the trailer to the set. Once production was set, all work was stopped and the hallway was cleared, except for essential crew. Wranglers walked the mule into the hallway and placed her on her mark, directly in front of the door. While filming the wrangler stood near a doorway, right off-camera.
