Murder Of A Cat

Detailed Animal Action Report

Throughout the film, the main character has a pet cat, who is seen performing such mild action as sitting/lying, being held or petted. For all of these scenes, trainers used hand signals and verbal commands to cue the mild action, which the trained cat was accustomed to performing.

In the scene where we see a kitten in a cage in a pet store window, production made sure the air conditioning was on at all times.

In the scene where the kitten in the cage rides behind the actors on a moped, the actors and the kitten were filmed separately, and they used a fake kitten for the majority of that shoot. The trainer was standing off-camera on the process trailer the whole time. The process trailer traveled at approximately 15 to 20 mph with the crew on board the whole time.

In the scene where we see the dead cat lying in the middle of the road with an arrow in his body, and the actor subsequently picks  him up and pulls the arrow out, the cat was created in the props department, and was a fake.
