Mr. and Mrs. Smith (2005)

John and Jane Smith have a seemingly normal marriage—with one little catch: they both lead double lives as assassins working for rival organizations. Each manages to keep this huge secret until their next assignment comes in…and turns their world upside down.

Animal actors in this production were monitored through American Humane Society’s No Animals Were Harmed™ program.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Detailed Animal Action Report

In one scene, the Smiths sit kissing on a bench as rain pours down and a few chickens wander about. The trainer scattered feed on the ground and put the chickens on mark, letting them roam freely while the cameras rolled. Rain effects were added in during post production and no chickens got wet for this shot.

During the filming of this outdoor sequence, a boy walks a goat on lead in the background and two other goats were tied to trees. A trainer handed the rope to the child actor right before the cameras rolled and retrieved the animal afterward. American Humane’s Certified Animal Safety Representatives monitored this action; however, the scene was cut from the theatrical release but might appear in the DVD version.
