Miss Evers’ Boys (1997)
Miss Evers’ Boys is about Eunice Evers, a black nurse, and a medical research study called the “Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male”. The study was conducted from 1932 to 1972 and was established to determine whether or not Negro men suffered the same from syphilis as white men.
Animal actors in this production were monitored through American Humane Society’s No Animals Were Harmed® program.

There is a scene where Miss Evers visits a farm of one of the patients and a plow-horse is seen in the field in the background and some chickens in the yard. American Humane was notified until after completion of the film. However, after receiving the scripts and screening the film we are rating Miss Evers’ Boys “Acceptable“.
