In the scene where a woman sits on stoop and a man walks past with a dog on a leash, the dog was brought to set by its owner prior to shooting the scene. The dog rested in shaded area between takes. On action, the actor walked his dog from A to B. After filming the scene the dog was brought back to his trailer which was air conditioned.
In the scene where the actress follows an actor down the street and we see a background player walking his dog, prior to filming the dog’s owner/background actor walked her dog on leash from the holding area to set. On action, the actor walked her dog from A to B to her mark. After they called cut, the dog was given water and food.
