Last Man Standing

Last Man Standing is a film about John Smith, a drifter who in 1931 stops in Jericho, a border town, on his way to Mexico. It is during prohibition and the small town is being run by two gangs. At the time of John’s arrival in town, there is a truce between the two rivals. John is an independent gun for hire in need of some quick cash, so he decides to play the two gangs against each other. He hires on in both gangs and has each mob boss thinking that he is working exclusively for him. Before long the truce is broken and both gangs try to destroy each other. After one gang eliminates the other, John steps in and wipes out the remaining gang and all its members.

Detailed Animal Action Report

When John is driving into town for the first time, a dead horse is seen lying in the dirt road with flys buzzing all around it. For this, a taxidermic horse was used. Ten thousand flys were purchased for this scene by the prop department and liberated at completion of the scene.

Other animal action consists of a brief shot of some chickens in the background in a Mexican village. To keep the chickens from wandering off, wranglers placed corn and other feed on the ground. They retrieved the chickens at completion of the shot.
