Detailed Animal Action Report
Larry (Gary Cole) and his dog are in the far background as Steve Jones (David Duchovny) watches them through his window. Larry crouches down, picking up after his dog. The prop feces was made of a nontoxic substance. Then, Larry walks his dog on a leash down the sidewalk for a moment before stopping to chat with Steve. For this brief and mild action, the dog owner and trainer was nearby at all times, along with a second trainer for added safety. Moments before filming, the trainer handed the leash to the actor, who was instructed on proper handling of the dog, and had him walk 20 feet down the sidewalk. The streets were closed to traffic.
