In the same scene, we see a pen in the background holding chickens and goats. Trainers made sure they were well fed and watered and placed in a cool area.

In the scene where we see a young actor holding a pig, the boy and the pig were acclimated with each other prior to shooting.

In the scene where we see a cockroach crawl on a counter in a diner, trainer placed the cockroach on the counter and the roach walked from point A to point B.

The birds on the pier were caught in their natural habitat.
