Detailed Animal Action Report
Throughout the film, the main character has a pet dog, who is seen performing such mild action as sitting/standing/lying, being held or petted, and walking/running on or off leash. For all of these scenes, trainers used hand signals and verbal commands to cue the mild action, which the trained dog was accustomed to performing. The barking/growling was also a trained behavior.
In the scene where the actress wakes up, sees the dog sitting on the paper, she picks up the dog, talks to him, places him back on the ground, the trainer walked the dog to the set and then placed him on his mark. On action, the trainer cued the dog to walk on the paper. The actress picked him up and placed him back on his mark.
In the scene where the actress walks through the park passing a man walking multiple dogs on leashes, the animal trainers walked to the set with their dogs and placed them on their mark. On action, the actor walked the dogs.
In the scene when the dog poops on the blueprint, the trainers got the dog to move his butt along the paper, on cue. The poop was fake.
