Chaos breaks out when a meteor crashes to Earth bearing one-celled organisms. The problem is that they begin evolving at a pace much faster than humans did. Changes that had taken billions of years on earth, now happen in one month. As the film starts, these organisms are kept within the confines of a cave, but the question is, what will happen when they get out?
