Dick Tracy (1990)

Dick Tracy, the comic strip, makes a successful transition to the motion picture screen in this tongue-in-cheek version of the famous character’s exploits. You’ll have fun trying to guess who the famous actors are behind the heavily made up cartoon faces. Tracy tries to break up a gangster mob as he continues his bashful romance with Tess Trueheart. Along the way, he helps a tough little orphan boy and nearly succumbs to the charms of a very seductive torch singer/gangster’s moll.

In the beginning of the film, a group of men are playing poker in a garage. In a fit of temper, one of the men picks up the cat and throws a yowling cat across the garage. The camera established a real cat, then the cat was replaced with a fake one which was thrown. The yowling was added to the sound track later.
