Christy (2025)
Christy Martin never imagined life beyond her small-town roots in West Virginia—until she discovered a knack for punching people. Fueled by grit, raw determination, and an unshakable desire to win, she charges into the world of boxing under the guidance of her trainer and manager-turned-husband, Jim. But while Christy flaunts a fiery persona in the ring, her toughest battles unfold outside it—confronting family, identity, and a relationship that just might become life-or-death.

Certified Animal Action Overview
No Animals Were Harmed™ closely monitored every moment of animal action in Christy, ensuring the dog on set was always safe and calm. From carefully monitored car rides to cozy scenes indoors, trainers prepared each moment in advance so the dog was comfortable with the actors. Wranglers stayed out of frame, guiding the dog with quiet hand signals, steady leads and plenty of reassurance. As the story unfolded on screen, the dog enjoyed familiar arms to rest in, slow and careful movements from the cast and lots of treats and breaks. Thanks to this attentive teamwork, the dog’s natural charm shines through.
Detailed Animal Action Report
In the scenes where the actress drives down the road with her dog sitting in her lap, prior to filming, the wrangler attached the dog to a lead which was hooked under the seat on the driver’s side door before placing the dog on the actress’ lap. As she drove slowly, the wrangler leaned down in the backseat, holding on to the lead.
In the subsequent scene when the actress walks into her house holding her dog and places him on the ground in the kitchen before feeding him, prior to filming trainers discussed the animal action with the actress. At this point, the actress was well acquainted with the dog and felt comfortable carrying him.
In the scene where the actors sit in a diner and Christy holds the dog while talking to her friend, prior to filming the scene the was placed in a gym bag and placed in the booth next to the actress. On action, the two actors talked while the trainer stood off-camera in the dog’s eyeline. The wrangler also used hand signals for the dog to stay calm.
In the scene where the two actresses enter a gym and Christy’s mom holds the dog while Christy gets in the ring and boxes, prior to shooting the scene, the dog was carried to set by the wrangler, then placed the dog in the actress’ arms who’s sitting on the sidelines. After calling cut, the dog was rewarded with treats.
In the scene where Christy drives up to a trailer, gets out of the car and walks into her trailer holding her dog, the actress and the dog were well acquainted with each other at this point so it wasn’t challenging for the actress to perform the scene.
In the scene when the two actors enter a motel room, prior to filming the wrangler handed the dog to the actress. On action, the actress walked up to the motel holding the dog in one arm while carrying a suitcase in the other. Once cut was called, the wrangler took the dog from actress’ arms and gave them a break before shooting again.
