Detailed Animal Action Report

Throughout the film, the main character has a pet cat, who is seen performing such mild action as sitting/standing/lying, being held or petted, and walking/running. For all of these scenes, trainers used hand signals and verbal commands to cue the mild action, which the trained cat was accustomed to performing.

In the scene where the veterinarian pulls the cat out of the bag and places him on the exam table, the trainer carried the cat onto the set in the carrier bag. She worked with the actor playing the vet on how to pick the cat out of bag so the cat was comfortable and can be seen on camera. The trainer was off-camera for scene and readjusted cat between takes.

In the scene where the couple walks past the house with the dog on a leash, a trainer was off-camera using hand signals to “come” and a “stop” signal. The dog was given food and water after shooting the scene.
