Detailed Animal Action Report
In the scene where the actress sees some commotion on a city street, when a dog suddenly breaks away from a man and runs towards the actress before stopping and a man steps in and pets the dog, production and wranglers thoroughly planned how to achieve this animal action safely well in advance. Prior to the scene the wrangler brought the dog to the set and placed him on his mark before standing behind the camera. On action, the dog ran towards another wrangler and bit his sleeve. They used a bite sleeve on his arm. They then placed the actress on her mark and the wrangler stood behind her. On action, one of the wranglers let the dog go and he ran towards the actress. The wrangler instructed the dog to stop just before her. Then the other actor leaned down and pet the dog.
In the scene where the actor plays with the dog in the hotel room, the wrangler brought the dog to the set and placed him on his mark. The dog and the actor had already been acquainted before the shoot. On action the actor and dog caroused naturally with the wrangler off camera.
In the scene where the actress pulls a dead skunk out of the swimming pool with a net, production provided us with the receipt for the taxidermy skunk from a props house.
