Detailed Animal Action Report
In the scene where the boy meets the Native American gentleman on horseback and they talk, prior to filming trainers brought a horse to set. On action, the kid walked towards the actor on horseback. The actor on horseback was a very experienced and competent bareback rider.
In the scene where the actress talks with the man brushing his horse outside of his barn, the trainers showed the actor how to brush and approach the horse. The horse lived on the premises so was calm the entire time. On action, the actor brushed the horse lightly.
In the scene where the Native American actor and boy ride double bareback on horse across the field, they used a stunt double for child actor. They rehearsed this scene with trainers before shooting the scene. On action, the man and boy rode double on the horse.
