29th Street (1991)
29th Street is a comedy-melodrama based on the true-life story of actor Frank Pesce, who won the first New York State Lottery in 1976. Almost an updated It’s a Wonderful Life set in Queens, New York, it’s a story of family relationships. The focus is on Frank Jr., who was born lucky, and his relationship with his father, who feels he’s a born loser. After Frank Jr. is rushed to the hospital after being stabbed, even his bad luck ultimately turns to good fortune when a tumor is discovered and removed before it can become malignant. His good fortune is tested when he sells his potentially winning lottery ticket to a gangster to whom his father is deeply in debt.

Detailed Animal Action Report
Animal action is limited to the family cat, Vinnie, seen at various times in bed or in the kitchen eating pizza. (The pizza had an extra topping of cat food.) When Vinnie is caught on Frank Jr.’s prized handkerchief-sized lawn, Dad throws a newspaper at him. This scene was shot in cuts, with the cat walking from point A to point B. He was not there when the newspaper was thrown.
