American Humane Society, the United States’ first national humane organization and the world’s largest certifier of animal welfare practices, announced today that the MITER Foundation™, the charitable arm of MITER Brands™, a residential window and door manufacturer, is continuing their support for the Pups4Patriots™ program. MITER Foundation has increased their support for the program to help fund more efforts that provide exceptionally trained service dogs at no cost to veterans and retired first responders suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), bridging a critical gap of care and companionship.
American Humane Society is committed to harnessing the healing power of the human-animal bond to put more healing leashes into the hands of veterans and retired first responders in need. To date, the Pups4Patriots program has provided more than 120 lifesaving service dogs.
“Our military veterans and retired first responders have put their lives on the line to protect our communities and our freedoms—and now they need our help,” said Dr. Robin Ganzert, President and CEO of American Humane Society. “The Pups4Patriots program would not be possible without the generosity of companies like MITER Brands. This grant will go directly towards getting these heroes service dogs that help them to live their lives to the fullest.”
“American Humane Society does fantastic work through the Pups4Patriots program,” said Gwen Mallon, MITER Foundation Specialist. “Heroes support is one of the pillars of the MITER Foundation, so we jumped at the opportunity to help join our wounded veterans with these amazing service dogs.”
The Pups4Patriots program is made possible through the generous support of donors. To learn more and contribute to the program, visit americanhumane.org/what-we-do/care-for-our-heroes/pups4patriots/
