American Humane Society to Hold Free Pet Wellness Clinic for Communities Affected by Wildfires

In collaboration with Rover Kennels Culver City and support from Destination Pet Foundation, the nonprofit is offering pet wellness checks and vaccinations for those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires

American Humane Society, the United States’ first national humane organization and the world’s largest certifier of animal welfare practices, announced that on Saturday, January 18th, it will hold a free Pet Wellness Clinic in Culver City, California for those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.

Members of the community can bring their pets to be assessed by licensed veterinarians and, if needed, get them vaccinated at no charge. Veterinarians will conduct basic assessments to help determine if pets’ health has been adversely impacted by the wildfires. Thanks to a donation of vaccines and medication from Zoetis, we will also offer routine vaccines and flea/tick/heartworm prevention for up to 125 dogs and 50 cats.

The event will be held from 10 am to 2 pm PT at Rover Kennels, 8930 Lindblade Street, Culver City, CA 90232.

The Wellness Clinic is part of American Humane Society’s broader work in Los Angeles where brave first responders are helping provide emergency shelter, medical care and comfort to animals in crisis.

“The American Humane Society Wellness Clinic is an example of how our dedicated team cares for animals in times of crisis,” said Dr. Robin Ganzert, President and CEO of American Humane Society. “As an organization with staff and beloved animals in California, we are passionate about rescuing, caring for and protecting pets in our community and we are so grateful to the Destination Pet Foundation and Rover Kennels for their support.”

The Wellness Clinic will be hosted at Rover Kennels Culver City, a Yourgi Pack member, with generous support from the Destination Pet Foundation.

American Humane Society has established an Emergency Relief Fund for Animals to take immediate action to support animals in urgent need. Donations will help provide lifesaving resources like food, water, and essential supplies.
