American Humane Society Partnered with PEDIGREE Foundation and Mars to Host Free Pet Wellness Clinic in Nashville, TN

The free pet clinic served over 150 local pets with wellness exams, vaccines and microchips and care packages, free of charge

On Sunday, April 27, American Humane Society, the country’s first national animal welfare organization, partnered with PEDIGREE Foundation and Mars to host a free pet wellness clinic in Nashville, TN.

95 pet families brought their cats and dogs to Nashville Soccer Club’s GEODIS Park on Sunday where Banfield Pet Hospital, and VCA Animal Hospital veterinarians provided free services.

“This clinic exemplifies our commitment to ensuring that every pet is safe and healthy, especially in communities vulnerable to natural disasters,” said Robin Ganzert, President and CEO of American Humane Society. “We are proud to partner with organizations like PEDIGREE Foundation and Mars to make a meaningful impact in the lives of pets and their families.”

The clinic offered a range of services including wellness exams, rabies vaccinations, species-specific combo vaccinations, flea and tick prevention, and microchipping, along with care packages containing food, treats, leashes, bowls, waste bags, blankets, and more, all free of charge.

“We were proud to support the free pet wellness clinic in Nashville, TN alongside PEDIGREE Foundation and American Humane Society, helping local pet parents access critical care and resources to stay prepared for disasters and emergencies,” said Lisa Hackett Campbell, Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs, Mars Pet Nutrition North America. “At Mars, we’re committed to strengthening the communities where we live and work, and it was inspiring to see so many of our Associates step up to volunteer in service of pets.”

The wellness clinic was aimed to bring accessible pet health care to the community, equipping local pet parents with the tools and resources they need to safeguard the health and wellbeing of their cherished companions to give them long, happy lives.

“At PEDIGREE Foundation, we believe that every dog deserves a loving home and the care they need to live healthy, happy lives,” said Deb Fair, Executive Director of PEDIGREE Foundation. “We’re proud of our longstanding partnership with American Humane Society to support impacted communities during a natural disaster and to deliver essential veterinary services and resources to pet families across the country. Events like the Nashville wellness clinic are a powerful example of how collaboration can remove barriers to pet care. When dogs are healthy, they have a better chance of finding loving homes.”

The overwhelming response from the Nashville community highlights the need for accessible pet care services and the importance of collaboration among local organizations.
