American Humane Society Board Chair John Payne Donates $1 Million in Honor of 15th Annual Hero Dog Awards Gala

Payne, who also serves as President, CEO and Chairman of the board of Zivo Bioscience, is a highly respected leader in the veterinary and animal health industries. His generous contribution will support American Humane Society’s mission to rescue, care for and protect animals through life-changing programs, critical advocacy initiatives and science-based certification programs.

“John Payne’s extraordinary generosity and steadfast leadership reflect the very best of what it means to stand up for animals,” said Dr. Robin Ganzert, President and CEO of American Humane Society. “We are profoundly grateful for his donation, which will have an immediate and lasting impact on animals in need and sends a powerful message about the significant role veterinary and animal health industry leaders can play in advancing animal welfare.”

The donation was celebrated at the American Humane Hero Dog Awards, the organization’s signature annual celebration honoring courageous and loyal dogs whose actions have saved lives, strengthened communities and exemplified the powerful bond between people and animals.

“Animals give so much to us—comfort, companionship, and healing—and they deserve protection in return,” said John Payne. “That’s why I am proud to support American Humane Society with a $1 million gift, and why I am calling on leaders across all businesses, especially the pet industry, to join me in advancing animal protection and the human–animal bond.”
