This transformational gift underscores John Payne’s commitment to advancing animal welfare
American Humane Society, the United States’ first national humane organization and the world’s leading certifier of animal welfare practices, today announced a $1 million donation from John Payne, Chair of the organization’s board, made in honor of the 15th Annual Hero Dog Awards Gala in Palm Beach, Florida.
Payne, who also serves as President, CEO and Chairman of the board of Zivo Bioscience, is a highly respected leader in the veterinary and animal health industries. His generous contribution will support American Humane Society’s mission to rescue, care for and protect animals through life-changing programs, critical advocacy initiatives and science-based certification programs.

The donation was celebrated at the American Humane Hero Dog Awards, the organization’s signature annual celebration honoring courageous and loyal dogs whose actions have saved lives, strengthened communities and exemplified the powerful bond between people and animals.
