Agriculture and animal welfare leader to advance humane standards and expand certification impact
American Humane Society, the United States’ first national humane organization and the world’s leading certifier of animal welfare practices, is proud to announce the appointment of Ryan Bennett as its new Vice President, Farm Program. Bennett will lead the American Humane Certified™ Farm program, which protects over 1 billion animals annually through independent, third-party audits.
After a rigorous search, American Humane Society selected Bennett for this pivotal leadership role. His professional experience spans agriculture, sustainability and environmental policy, with a strong focus on improving animal welfare.
Before joining American Humane Society, Bennett served as Executive Director of the U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Poultry & Eggs and the International Poultry Welfare Alliance, where he led multi-stakeholder initiatives across the poultry and egg supply chain to advance sustainability and welfare outcomes.

As Vice President of the Farm Program, Bennett will lead strategic direction, guide program expansion and advance science-based welfare standards for American Humane Society’s industry-leading farm animal welfare certification efforts.

In his role, Bennett will lead stakeholder engagement while driving continuous improvement in program standards, operations and thought leadership to ensure the program’s continued integrity and impact. He will lead a multidisciplinary team and help expand the reach of the American Humane Certified program globally.
