WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, April 14, 2023 — American Humane is proud to announce its membership into the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN). IUCN, the world’s largest and most diverse environmental network, brings together 1,400 member organizations from more than 170 countries to further their mission of influencing, encouraging, and assisting societies around the world to conserve the integrity and diversity of nature. 

IUCN’s membership meets every four years for the World Conservation Congress (WCC) with conservationists and thought leaders, government agencies, organizations, and non-governmental organizations to collaborate and shape the direction of global sustainable development. 

American Humane’s membership into IUCN brings decades of dedication to the safeguarding of animals around the world. Our programs, including Humane Hollywood™, the American Humane Certified™ Farm Program, and Humane Conservation™, among others, have been at the forefront of major advancements towards making the world a kinder place for animals. Joining forces with IUCN will help American Humane better foster the safety, welfare, and well-being of animals living in the wild.
