Ryan Bennett, Vice President, Farm Program

Ryan Bennett serves as Vice President, Farm Program at American Humane Society, the United States’ first national humane organization and the world’s leading certifier of animal welfare practices. In this senior leadership role, he guides the vision, strategic growth and operational excellence of the American Humane Certified™ Farm program, advancing science-based welfare standards and trusted, third-party assurance for animal care.

Before joining American Humane Society, Ryan served as Executive Director of both the U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Poultry & Eggs and the International Poultry Welfare Alliance, where he led multi-stakeholder efforts across the poultry and egg supply chain to continuously improve sustainability and animal welfare outcomes. In those roles, he oversaw the facilitation and execution of organizational strategy while uniting producers, companies, scientists and advocacy partners behind shared goals of responsible animal care and sustainable agriculture.

Ryan’s professional background spans sustainability, environmental policy, energy and animal welfare across both the dairy and grain-handling industries, including government relations and industry affairs leadership roles. This breadth of experience enables him to bridge diverse perspectives and support practical, science-informed progress in farm animal welfare.

Ryan holds a degree in Agriculture from Kansas State University. He lives in Arlington, Virginia, with his wife and their rescue dog, Pepper. Outside of work, he is actively involved in agriculture and animal care, including judging livestock shows, supporting youth livestock projects and volunteering with a local animal shelter.
