National Director, Development

Biography

Michelle joined American Humane in July 2019 as National Director, Development, overseeing fundraising efforts across the organization’s portfolio of programs. She is based in the Washington, D.C., headquarters.

Michelle has 23 years of fundraising and non-profit experience. She most recently served as the Director of Development for the Amputee Coalition. She previously worked for the Montgomery County Chapters of Habitat for Humanity and the American Red Cross as Executive Director and Director of Development, respectively. Michelle began her fundraising career at Florida Easter Seals.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Colorado and is a CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive). She is a current member and former board member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).

Michelle lives in Northern Virginia with her two daughters, and her 13-year-old deaf dog. She is a long-time Junior League volunteer.
