Meet Knox

Knox is a two-year-old German Shepherd with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department whose nose has already changed lives. When a call came in about missing children lost in the woods at a state park, Knox conducted a track that led searchers directly to the girls, one of whom was suffering a medical emergency and received treatment in time because of his work.

His superpower is simple but extraordinary: an incredible sense of smell that turns a desperate search into a rescue. Off duty, Knox is every bit the energetic, loving German Shepherd he appears to be, living on a farm surrounded by animals, “helping” with chores, and eventually collapsing onto the couch for well-earned snuggles. In just one year on the job, Knox has already proven that sometimes the difference between tragedy and a happy ending comes down to one determined dog’s nose.
