Meet Jager

Jager is a USPCA Certified Therapy dog with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office in New Jersey. He assists first responders, trauma survivors and communities facing crises. In moments of intense emotional pain, he instinctively gravitates to those who need him the most. His quiet presence shifts the room—grounding, comforting and guiding people towards healing. Jager and his handler also volunteer with a crisis response organization in New Jersey.

What moment best shows Jager’s heroism?

In May 2024, when eight officers were shot and four were killed in North Carolina, Jager and his handler went to help. Jager worked quietly through grief-filled groups and attended an Officer’s funeral. After, he found an Officer sitting alone in tears. Jager sat at his feet, leaning into him, where he stayed until the Officer was composed and safely back in the presence of fellow Officers.
