The Power of a Second Chance
Tiny Tim’s Story
Tiny Tim’s body told a tragic story. He was found emaciated, barely able to stand, his skin covered in wounds, and his eyes painfully inflamed. X-rays revealed something even more heartbreaking—multiple broken bones consistent with blunt force trauma. At just a year old, Tiny Tim had already survived cruelty no animal should ever endure.
But even in his fragile state, he still wagged his tail. He still hoped someone would help.
That help came through the support of compassionate people and a Second Chance® grant from American Humane. Tiny Tim received the critical medical care he needed: intensive feeding, pain management, and surgery to repair his damaged legs and correct his painful eye condition.
As he began to heal, he was placed in a loving foster home. And it was there, surrounded by safety and care, that he blossomed. His foster mom—touched by his resilience and sweet nature—couldn’t bear to let him go. She adopted him, giving him the forever home he had always deserved.
Today, Tiny Tim is thriving. He’s strong, joyful, and deeply loved.

But so many animals like him are still waiting—for urgent care, for compassion, for someone to give them a second chance.
You can be that someone. Your gift will help provide lifesaving medical treatment to animals who’ve endured cruelty, neglect, and trauma while also supporting all of our life-changing and impactful programs.
