Kimchi was able to have a Second Chance because of YOU

When Kimchi was brought in for help, her condition was dire. The 8-year-old cat was suffering from severe injuries—bleeding, dehydrated, and in urgent need of medical attention.

She was rushed for emergency care, where she received critical treatment to stabilize her condition, including diagnostics, medications, and close monitoring. A Second Chance Grant from American Humane Society helped cover the cost of her lifesaving care—giving her the chance to recover.

Despite everything she endured, Kimchi never lost her gentle spirit. Even while fighting to heal, she continued to purr—a quiet sign of the resilience and trust that never left her.

Today, Kimchi has made a full recovery. She is safe in a loving home where she is cherished and protected, finally able to live the peaceful life she always deserved.

The Power of a Second Chance

American Humane Society’s Second Chance Grants fund emergency surgeries, life-saving treatments and recovery care for animals rescued from heartbreaking circumstances. Whether it’s a dog pulled from a neglectful home, a cat left injured on the street, or a horse starved and forgotten — this program gives them the medical support they need to survive and thrive.

But none of it is possible without the generosity of people like you.

When you donate, you help fund critical care for animals who might otherwise be lost. And your gift helps American Humane Society continue responding wherever the need is greatest — so no animal has to suffer simply because resources weren’t there.
