What’s Happening in Hawaii
When disasters like this strike, they leave devastation in their wake, including flooded homes, destroyed infrastructure, and animals fighting to survive in dangerous, rapidly changing conditions.
In Hawaii, catastrophic flooding—described as the worst in more than 20 years—has overwhelmed entire communities. Triggered by powerful storm systems, relentless rainfall has inundated neighborhoods, washed out roads, and forced thousands of people to evacuate their homes.
More than 200 people have already been rescued from rising waters, with emergency crews pulling families to safety from rooftops and flood zones. Entire communities on Oahu, especially along the North Shore, have been left covered in thick mud and debris, with hundreds of homes damaged or destroyed.
And as always, animals are among the most vulnerable.
As floodwaters surged, many animals were left trapped in homes, stranded in debris, or displaced without access to food, clean water, or shelter. Some are injured. Many are frightened and alone.
Our rescue team is on the ground right now, working with trusted local partners to assess needs and begin search and rescue efforts in the hardest-hit areas.
Together, we are helping ensure that animals affected by this disaster receive:
- Emergency rescue and lifesaving care
- Access to food, clean water, and safe shelter
- Critical support as they recover and begin their journey toward safety
For these animals, this response is more than relief—it is a lifeline. It can mean the difference between continued suffering and a second chance at life.
Right now, your support is urgently needed to help us continue this work in Hawaii and wherever animals are in crisis.
Please give today to help ensure we can be there for these animals and help support all our life-changing and impactful programs.
