We’re excited to announce that Ocean Park Hong Kong is now officially certified through our global Humane Conservation program for zoos and aquariums. Ocean Park Hong Kong is the very first institution to achieve certification in Asia and joins an elite group of only six institutions worldwide to earn the Humane Conservation Seal of Approval.

American Humane launched the Humane Conservation initiative in June to ensure that the millions of animals living in zoos, aquariums, and conservation centers across the globe receive the humane treatment they deserve. An independent Science Advisory Committee, comprised of leading minds in the fields of animal science, behavior, ethics, and conservation, developed the program’s standards, which cover the many dimensions of animal welfare and well-being.

For added protection, certification is determined through rigorous third-party auditing and awarded only to institutions demonstrating the highest standards of transparent, evidence-based care. We are thrilled to recognize Ocean Park Hong Kong as one of these humane leaders.
